What is a source?

Give Theo research context

Sources are files made available to Theo as research context. They can include research papers, datasets, code, notes, reference documents, previous research material, and images.

The guide currently supports examples such as PDF, CSV, Python (.py), text (.txt), Markdown (.md), JPG, and PNG files. Available formats and size limits may vary by workspace configuration.

Recommended workflow

• Upload only the material relevant to the current research goal.

• Use descriptive filenames so sources are easy to identify.

• Tell Theo which sources to prioritize or exclude.

• Ask Theo to distinguish source-supported statements from its own interpretation.

• When accuracy matters, request citation verification before relying on a claim.

Files generated by Theo can also be placed in Sources when you want to reuse them as context later.
